About the BGP
Born out of a sense of urgency in March of 2020, when the world literally was grappling with this unknown virus. The world was shifting in a matter of days, and life as we knew it was changing before our eyes. The world was collectively asking, what's NEXT?
Whenever society changes so abruptly, aka crisis mode, the most vulnerable populations are always at risk of being exploited, left behind, forgotten, and denied access to resources. When a conversation between sorority sisters triggered a more prominent thought, I asked myself, how can I support black women through what will come from the Pandemic?
The Black Girls Guide to the Pivot was birthed. A virtual safe space for black women to show up unapologetically. A community that poured into black women through storytelling, educational moments, and simply holding space as we navigate how the world is changing.
The Black Girls Guide to the Pivot is an online community committed to telling our stories and having honest and real conversations about the world around us, our communities, and our homes.
The BGP Community focuses on personal and professional development, career and business, self-care and healing, and all things relevant to the Black woman experience.
We desire to model what healthy black women's relationships can look like. Here at BGP, we celebrate the wins, shower you with all the praises, and hold you accountable for your own healthy wellbeing. Facilitate discussions about generational curses and childhood trauma, and, more importantly, how do we PIVOT pass the barriers we face. Think of the BGP as your new Best Friend; we are here for it!
The community is here to support your PIVOT. We hope you come here and can gain some practical tips and resources you can use in your everyday life.
